We first formed a wind group for teenagers in 2016 and the group has taken on many faces and names since, to today's format of The Bandalorians, the name being borrowed and amended from the Stars Wars spin off drama. Who knows what and who we may become going forwards, our members decide!
In our band, we have younger teenagers playing flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, french horn, euphonium and tuba. They are around Grade 3-6 standard.
Our music ranges from film to popular music and of course at Christmas we play some old christmas favourites.
We aim to play in 2 to 3 gigs every year and have played at Chenies Manor and local Care homes. Most of our group have not had quite so much performing and ensemble experience by this stage, so a lot of what we do is about learning to play together as a group, listening to others and experiencing rehearsing alongside different instruments and people. It is a very different experience playing in a group compared to playing on our own at home.
We are really friendly and welcome new members to give it a go. If you are in a rut practicing on your own at home, maybe this could make it so much more fun.
We rehearse in Chorleywood on Mondays at 5pm. If you would like to join our group then please contact Christine Deeley: christinedeeley@gmail.com
