News in brief
Our summer was busy with activities on Chorleywood common, including a fully staged live orchestral concert; a first for us and the Chorleywood Parish Council and a stall at the annual village day.
However, summer is over and we are well into our autumn season. The orchestra is still on a ‘high’ after performing Beethoven’s 9th symphony in celebration of 200 years since its first performance in Vienna in 1824.
We are looking forward to our December family concert which, this year, will feature Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and will be held at the Rickmansworth School.
The orchestra has invested in a set of timpani to enhance its rehearsals and performances, more about that later.
