Chorleywood Music is a community group providing singers and musicians with opportunities to meet, play, perform and have fun.
Established in 2017, Chorleywood Music supports a local orchestra, several music ensembles, choirs, youth bands, a jazz band and runs the annual Rickmansworth Young Musician of the Year competition. The groups involve over 40 members from Chorleywood and the surrounding area.

A full amateur symphony orchestra with professional conductor Daniel Hogan and leader Angelika Stangl.
A high-level annual competition for local musicians aged 19 and under.
A jazz band providing 20th century jazz hits for community events and to celebrate key dates in the calendar.
The leading brass group for older teenage players, grade 6+, giving public performances all year round.
A wind and brass group, for younger teenagers, grade 3+, providing ensemble playing and performance opportunities.
An ensemble featuring clarinet with string quartet who specialise in playing light classical, jazz and popular tunes from stage and screen for a variety of events and functions.
We love to take our music to care homes, schools, and community events. You will see us performing at the Chorleywood Christmas Festival and Chorleywood Summer Village Day.

We produce three newsletters every year that aim to keep our members and supporters up to date with all aspects of Chorleywood Music. We include regular columns from our conductor, have articles about recent events, offer delicious cake recipes and encourage our orchestra members to share their insights about music and their lives outside the orchestra.

Our Ethos
Chorleywood Music is part of the Making Music (National Federation of Music Societies) Network, a registered charity in the UK. Our aim is to enable our neighbours to make and enjoy music on their doorstep. We want to encourage music making in the local community.
Chorleywood Music was registered with the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation on 20th February 2018 – Charity No. 1177244.
